ARE YOU READY FOR CHANGE? I am not a huge fan of astrology by any means, but at the beginning of this year I read the 2016 predictions for a Capricorn. There were many parts of this article I wasn’t too sure about, but the main theme (which I really dig) of 2016 is supposed to be Change and Growth. Up until the last few years, I have been extremely sensitive to change. Quite frankly, I hated it. I hated unfamiliarity and the nervous feelings of doing something new. I hated not knowing what was going to happen and I hated feeling out of control. So basically, and I’ll be the first to admit it, I was a control freak. I started to realize this controlling side I used to have was causing me suffering. I had this idea of how life was supposed to turn out and when it didn’t turn out like that, I would be devastated. And this wasn’t something I got over easily. I held onto these ideas and didn’t let them go until I was forced to. Sound familiar at all? A few years ago my life started to take a drastic turn that I obviously did not plan for. Through this huge transitional period, I began to realize that trying to control my life was causing me so much pain and heartache. When I began to “let go” of my plan and be open to whatever life had in store for me, life got a little easier. When I started being okay with the ebb and flow of life, my suffering started to go away. When I began to open myself up to new possibilities and new adventures, I started to thoroughly enjoy my life. It’s hard to let things go and it is hard not to plan out your life. But, what would happen if you let go of your plan and you opened yourself up to new possibilities? What if you let go of your past and were able to start a new future?  What if you stopped resisting change and allowed the universe to point you in the right direction? What if you let go of your fear of the unknown and accepted the unknown with a big bear hug? Open your heart to change, because without change, you cannot grow. So, if 2016 is really the year of change and growth, I say BRING IT! What about you? xoxo ~Marlena
